Mar Egeo

The oil tanker Aegean Sea ran aground in La Coruña on December 3, 1992, at the foot of the Tower of Hercules. It split in two and dramatically caught fire, spilling its cargo into the sea. The action of the sea and cleanup efforts have allowed the area to be fully recovered. It has been partially dismantled, but it remains a wreck worth visiting.
