Biodiversity and invertebrates course
Workshop on invertebrates
All large groups of invertebrates are present in the sea. Their importance is vital as basic links in the food chains since they are involved, in one way or another, in all ecological processes of the oceans. To give us an idea of its importance, it is sufficient to mention that only the copepods (small crustaceans) of plankton exceed in biomass any other animal group in the whole planet.
This Diver’s Environmental Education Workshop reviews the most frequently observed marine invertebrate blades and develops the ability to identify these organisms in immersion, "training the eye" of the diver. Many of these animals have neither feet nor head and to locate them it is important to know the different forms they can take.
You will learn to behave in an ecological way when you approach these organisms and enjoy their observation thanks to a better knowledge of their biology and their role in marine ecosystems.
