Green Diving is born: eight dive centers committed to the sustainability of the marine environment.
Eight dive centers from across Spain join forces to offer a responsible, educational, and innovative experience under the Green Diving label.
April 2025 – With the goal of reducing the environmental impact of underwater activities and promoting the care of marine ecosystems, Green Diving is launched—a pioneering initiative in Spain driven by eight dive centers spread across the country: Diving Les Illes (Costa Brava), Buceo Pedreña (Costa Verde), Burbujas (Costa de Ceuta), Nauga (Ría de A Coruña), Zoea Mallorca (Balearic Islands), Cabo la Nao (Costa Blanca), Zoea Madrid (inland waters), and Divergente Buceo (Costa Cálida).
Green Diving offers diving experiences for both experienced divers and newcomers to the underwater world, providing unique adventures in privileged marine environments. At each center, visitors will find a transformative experience aligned with the values of responsible diving and marine conservation.
The program includes proposals adapted to different skill levels:
For beginners: snorkeling routes with educational materials and specialized guides to help interpret marine biodiversity.
For certified divers: a catalog of 12 underwater experiences to discover the richness of the seabed—from observing nudibranchs and coral reefs to marine cleanup dives.
Regenerative tourism, inclusion, and innovation
The Green Diving project supports a regenerative tourism model with initiatives such as:
Woman’s GD: activities to highlight the role of women in the marine environment.
Enjoy the Seas: underwater cleanup campaigns and educational programs aimed at schools.
Social inclusion: discounts for vulnerable groups and universal access to marine education.
The 8 centers and coordination team meet regularly
To ensure coherent implementation of the project, the Green Diving centers and coordinators have held regular in-person meetings in Madrid. The latest meeting took place on Wednesday, May 7, during which final details regarding content creation and program activity planning were discussed.
